School Bus Strikes Van on Highway 17 in Scotts Valley

A terrifying bus accident occurred on October 1, 2012, in Scotts Valley, California. According to published reports, a Monte Vista Christian School bus was traveling through the Santa Cruz mountains on Highway 17 during the evening rush hour commute. The school bus struck a Penske van head-on and both vehicles sustained major front-end damage. The accident occurred in the vicinity of the Mount Hermon Road off-ramp and the La Madrona Drive off-ramp.

According to published reports, the driver of the van was transported to a nearby medical facility after sustaining life-threatening injuries.
