Pleasanton Big Rig Accident Injures Three

A frightening big-rig truck accident occurred on July 24, 2012 in Pleasanton, California. The crash occurred on Interstate 580 east of Hopyard Road in Alameda County. According to the California Highway Patrol, a big-rig truck that was carrying a construction crane sideswiped a Toyota 4Runner. The collision caused the big-rig truck to slide out of control and crash into a concrete highway divider. Following the accident, the roadway was closed down for several hours because it was covered in hydraulic fluid, diesel fuel and other debris.

Fortunately, the truck driver and his 7-year-old son were able to exit the cab of the truck moments before the truck burst into flames. The boy was transported to Children's Hospital in Oakland and both the truck driver and the other victim were transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley with moderate injuries.
