Tragic Bus Accident Claims the Life of Rachel Martinez in South Sacramento County

A female cyclist sustained fatal injuries after being struck by a Regional Transit Bus in south Sacramento County. The shocking accident occurred at the intersection of Florin Road and East Parkway at approximately 6:10 p.m. on October 7, 2013. According to published reports, the cyclist was at the corner of East Parkway when the bus struck the rear tire of her bike. Tragically the victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by emergency responders. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 51-year-old Rachel M.
